Experience a HIV journey!

Urugendo, which translates to “life journey” in Kirundi, is an engaging interactive experience that chronicles the HIV journey of Eliane Nininahazwe, also known as HIV Stigmafighter and Eric the Dragking.

Throughout this experience, Eliane shares pivotal moments from their life, detailing their transformation from receiving a grim diagnosis to becoming a global HIV activist and performer. Eliane also shares their top priorities to break HIV stigma and ongoing challenges faced as HIV Stigmafighter.

Participants will experience Urugendo through different signature art forms which perfectly combine Eliane’s talents as an artist and HIV stigmafighter: They will perform using a traditional music instrument the indonongo, dance through traditional Burundian techniques, and use poetry to strengthen their HIV stigma fighting messages. During their performance, Eliane might even transform from a Burundian village girl into a HIV dragtivist!
