We dream of a world where people living with HIV are healthy citizens free from stigma. Fighting inequities together, we can help them to achieve universal access to health services and empower them to express their needs, break taboos and create a HIV stigma free society.
What does HIV stigmafighter stand for?
HIV stigmafighter speaks out on behalf of the global HIV community. However, speaking out is of no value without practice and learning! Therefore, we also engage in local HIV action and share our experiences through HIV+artivism.
We engage in projects and fight HIV stigma and discrimination around three connected priority areas:
1. Healthy living
There is no cure for HIV. However, ensuring good access to HIV prevention, diagnosis, treatment and care, makes HIV a manageable chronic health condition and will enable people living with HIV to lead long and healthy lives.
2. Diversity & inclusion
Diversity in HIV response is about addressing discrimination and marginalisation of people living with HIV. Inclusion means actively working within the HIV community to understand the different needs, risks and capacities.
3. Empowering people
When people living with HIV are being heard in decision-making and HIV service delivery, new infections decline and more people living with HIV gain access to treatment. When people living with HIV have the power to choose, to know, to thrive, to demand and to work together, lives are saved, injustices prevented and dignity restored.
How does HIV stigmafighter work?

We make an impact through:
1) Designing and engaging in local HIV action that puts the HIV community at its heart. Where possible we include art as it is a perfect vehicle for HIV activism and social change
2) HIV activism by fighting HIV stigma & discrimination whilst acting on behalf of the HIV community, and
3) HIV+ Arts to address issues around HIV stigma & discrimination
Whatever we do, whether supporting HIV campaigns or designing health services, we always work very closely with the global HIV community. We are also open to working with HIV partners who share the same values and goals and we often work together with them to support and strengthen the global HIV community.
